Bumpy Meadows Flying Club
Flight of the earls 2009 planning page

This page is set up to assist each crew to organise the trip to Popham in May 2009. It is by no means a definitive guide or plan, rather a central location to get what information you should need. Each crew is ENTIRELY RESPONSIBLE for their own flight planning, for filing GAR and filling FP's, please do not assume that it is done for you, it won't be !. We will attempt to have pre paid fuel at our stop off points, to this end each crew will be required to send off some money and I will send it to Robin at Glassonby and to Barbara at Pound Green, that way they do not have to use their own money to buy fuel for us ! Any questions? call me on 087 2547730.
The trip is in the planning stage and each crew should have the following;
1x 1:500000
Northern United Kingdom Map, available HERE
1x 1:500000 Southern United Kingdom Map, available HERE
A UK flight
guide is an important addition and cam be found on different sites,
one of the cheapest place to buy one is e-bay
this will probably be the 2008 edition but is 100% OK, or you can
buy the latest one HERE.
Flight Plan, filled out accordingly, available HERE.
This needs to be faxed to Aldrogrove on (028) 94422388 (048 from
R.O.I) on the Thursday before
the trip & clearly marked at the top for activation on the Friday,
we will decide the departure time in future updates so we can try
and file at times that suit everyone..
GAR (General Aviation Report) available HERE, again it needs to be faxed to Belfast on (028) 90901242 (048 from R.O.I) & to Dumfries & Galloway Police on 01776 704066 (00441776 704066 from Republic of Ireland) on the Thursday to permit special branch to authorize clearances. Remember you need to carry your passport also on this trip.
A list of required Frequencies & squawks, available HERE, please print off and carry with you.
A guide to the low level Manchester corridor, available HERE, please print off and read, **note** max ceiling is now 1300ft Manchester QNH and not 1250 as stated on the guide.
